Indian batting star Yuvraj Singh might have not been selected in the squad for the ongoing Cricket World Cup, but he outshone everyone at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction as he bagged a lucrative deal worth 2.67 million dollars.

The all-rounder went to Delhi Daredevils, who sealed the deal following a close bidding among Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab to buy the left-handed cricketer.

Singh was also the highest sell last year being picked by Royal Challengers for 2.33 million dollars.

Dinesh Karthik remained the second best gainer being bought by Bangalore franchise for 1.75 million dollars.

Delhi Daredevils also got hands on Angelo Mathews for 1.2 million dollars and spinner Amit Mishra for 5,64,000 dollars.

However players like Hashim Amla, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene were some of those who went unsold.

As many as 344 players were auctioned for the eighth season of the IPL tournament, which begins in April, with Kolkata Knight Riders defending the trophy this year.
