Yuvraj snapped up by RCB for highest IPL auction price of Rs.14 crs in pre-lunch bids

Indian batting star Yuvraj Singh has reportedly been sold for the highest price of Rs.14 crores in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) auction to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in the pre-lunch bids.

Among Indian players, next on the list is Dinesh Karthik with Rs.12.5 crores (Delhi Daredevils), followed by Robin Uthappa with Rs.5 crores (Kolkata Knight Riders), Murali Vijay with Rs.5 crores (Delhi Daredevils), Amit Mishra with Rs.4.75 crores (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Virender Sehwag with 3.2 crores (Kings XI Punjab).

Manoj Tiwari with Rs.2.8 crores (DD), Zaheer Khan with Rs.2.6 crores (Mumbai Indians) and Cheteshwar Pujara with Rs.1.9 crores (Kings XI Punjab) end the current list of auctioned Indians.

 

Leading among Australian players is Mitchell Johnson with Rs.6.5 crores (KXIP), David Warner with Rs.5.5 crores (SRH), Michael Hussey with Rs.5 crores (MI), Aaron Finch with Rs.4 crores (SRH), George Bailey with Rs.3.25 crores (KXIP), Brad Hodge with Rs.2.4 crores (Rajasthan Royals) and Shaun Marsh with Rs.2.2 crores (KXIP).

Sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen is the only England player sold yet for Rs.9 crores to Delhi Daredevils, while from South Africa, Jacques Kallis (Rs.5.5 crores; KKR), Faf du Plessis (Rs.4.75 crores; Chennai Super Kings) and JP Duminy (Rs.2.2 crores; DD) have been auctioned off till now.

Meanwhile, from New Zealand, captain Brendon McCullum is the only sold for Rs.3.25 crores to CSK, while from West Indies, Darren Sammy (Rs.3.5 crores, SRH) and Dwayne Smith (Rs.4.5 crores, CSK) have been auctioned off.
