Former Pakistani Test legends Zaheer Abbas and Abdul Qadir have reportedly expressed their interest in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman job, after a court ordered elections for the post be held next month.

Following the axing of then-chairman Zaka Ashraf in May over his 'dubious' election, the latest twist to rock the Pakistani cricket administration was when the Islamabad High Court (IHC) briefly suspended caretaker chairman Najam Sethi and ordered elections for the post to be held by the end of November.

According to the Daily Times, batting legend Abbas, former leg-spinner Qadir and former opener Mohsin Khan have all said that they are ready to run for the elections, with Qadir, a former chairman of selectors, saying that he has the ability to run Pakistan cricket with honesty as he has the experience of the post.

Former captain, manager and chief selector Abbas earlier this month said that he would consider running, while Mohsin, who was replaced as coach by Dav Whatmore in March last year, also said that he has the experience for the job and can bring about change if he is appointed as a chairman.
