Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohammad Zaka Ashraf has reportedly submitted 'contempt of court' charges against the current chairman Najam Sethi, adding a new twist to the bitter row over the top PCB slot.

Ashraf accused Sethi of deliberately concealing facts from the court, as well as misconstruing and misinterpreting the Supreme Court order, which suspended the Islamabad High Court's judgment that reinstated Ashraf in Sethi's place.

According to The Dawn, a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court has taken up an appeal by the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) - which oversees sports-related matters - and ordered that notices be issued to respondents to submit replies on the contempt petition.

Although the Supreme Court also ordered that Sethi will continue to perform as PCB chairman in the interim, he has however, been barred from taking 'adverse action' against 23 employees of the board who were appointed by Ashraf and reinstated on IHC orders, the report added.
