The Zimbabwean national cricket team has reportedly boycotted a local Twenty20 tournament over unpaid wages and bonuses.
The players, who went on strike two months ago over unpaid wages and bonuses dating back to last September, staged a sit-in on Monday at Harare Sports Club, where a domestic tournament was set to take place.
According to Sport24, a players' representative, Eliah Zvimba said that the situation is not healthy due to the team's low morale and almost empty bank accounts, adding that the players will resume playing only when they are paid outstanding wages.
Brendan Taylor, the national team captain, refused to comment, the report added.
