China's fourth largest cellphone maker ZTE Corp could reportedly enjoy an unexpected surge in sales owing to first lady Peng Liyuan.
Peng was seen taking pictures with the Nubia Z5 Mini handset during Chinese president Xi Jinping's ongoing trip through Europe.
According to China Daily, ZTE published a post on its micro blog saying "China Dream starts from 'Made-in-China', soon after Peng's pictures with the device went viral on the Intenet.
It is reported that the recent pictures of the first lady with the phone could prove to be an advantage for the company only two days after it announced 50 percent growth in shipments this year.
Xiang Ligang, founder of IT and telecom portal CCTime, said that it is heartening to see Peng Liyuan using the ZTE device, adding that the phone will definitely become a hot item for ladies.
