Japanese auto major, Toyota has now teased the upcoming 2014 Corolla on its official US Facebook page, ahead of its world premier on June 6, 2013. The teased image reminds us of the Toyota Corolla Furia concept that made its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, further clearing that the new Corolla sedan has taken its design inspiration from the Furia concept. However, technically the car is expected to remain majorly the same.
The revealed image shows a smooth tail-light design stretching the rear-quarter panel, bootlid and a lip spoiler, something that you can see in the Furia Concept as well. The 'S' badging also hints at Toyota's plans to enhance the sporting characteristics of the new Corolla.
The company hasn't revealed specs of the car, the 2014 Toyota Corolla is expected to derive its power from a 1.8-litre with Valvematic continuously variable valve timing system. The existing Corolla too use the similar 1.8-litre four cylinder engine, however with only variable valve timing. As per some media reports, the 2014 Corolla might now come up with a new CVT and a six-speed manual transmission gearbox along with the current four-speed AT.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
