BMW India has launched their 2015 X6 in the country at a whopping price of Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom India). The second generation coupe-styled crossover now joins the X range of SUVs - X1, X3 and X3 in India. The 2015 vehicle has retained the essence of the first generation X6 but it is now sharper and mature, more inline with current Bimmers.
Mechanically, the X6 is also available globally with two petrol options, however, in India it will be powered solely by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo diesel. The oil burner chucks out 313 PS @ 4,400 rpm and 630 Nm of max torque in-between 1500-2500 rpm - xDrive40d M Sport variant. The engine feeds power to all the four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The second generation X6 hits naught to 100 kmph mark in 5.8 seconds before hitting a top-speed of 240 kmph. The vehicle rides 212 mm above the ground and returns a fuel efficiency of 15.87 kmpl.
Speaking of the new X6, the vehicle has shed close to 40 kilos and it continues to feature the 50:50 weight distribution, just like its predecessor. BMW will also introduce the M version of it - X6 M with the stock car later this year. The BMW X6 M is powered by an evolved V8 unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology pumping out 583 PS and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. It comes equipped with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard.
