Volkswagen India is gearing up for the launch of facelifted 2015 Jetta tomorrow. The sedan is coming with a subtle nip and tuck treatment inside-out, while prices are expected to go up, just a minor bump.
Adding on the changes, the 2015 Jetta features a redesigned bumper with new fog lamp housing and a new three-slat grille. The rear profile sports subtle tweaks, the tail light gets an Audi-A4-esque look and there’s a subtle lip spoiler. The side profile of the sedan is kept unaltered. Moreover, there’s a new Blue color addition with this facelift. On the inside, the 2015 Jetta offers updated interiors with added goodies. At the outset, the 2015 model gets new flat bottom steering wheel, there’s a new fatigue detection system and updated infotainment. Moreover, the 2015 Jetta offers Bi-Xenon headlamps with daytime-running-LEDs – 15 LED's integrated in 'L' shape.
Jetta gets six-airbags as standard across all the trims!
Mechanically, it will continue the out-going car’s powertrains, and that’s not a bad thing either. The petrol trims will be powered by a 1.4-liter TFSI turbo petrol, the motors chucks out 122 PS @ 5000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque in-between 1500-4000 rpm. The diesel trims will be powered by a 2.0-liter TDI turbo diesel generating 140 PS @ 4200 rpm and a hefty 320 Nm of peak torque in-between 1750 and 2500 rpm. Speaking of the transmission - like before - petrol will be mated to a six-speed manual while diesel features an option of six-speed manual and six-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic.
