We at CarDekho are busy spending our weekend covering the Indian Grand Prix today and tomorrow at the Buddh International Circuit.

A day in the Formula 1 pits

The track temperature has been hovering around 35deg C and the ambient temperature is about 29deg C today in Greater Noida. Mornings are foggy, which meant that the morning practice session had to be delayed.

We also got an opportunity to speak to Niki Lauda for a couple of minutes. He seemed to be enjoying the weekend as always. Niki Lauda is the person on whom the recent Hollywood hit movie "Rush" was made. Lauda is double Formula 1 world champion and he almost had a fatal accident in 1976, where he almost burnt himself. We salute his courage as he got back to racing the same year and defended his title till the last Grand Prix of the season.

Today we got an opportunity to see the pit lane and the garage of our very own Force India. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to click any of the images as this against their policy. But we did get an opportunity to see the garage. There is a room full of computers that collect all the Force India vehicle data through telemetry and even send it back to the Silverstone factory, back in the UK.

We also got an opportunity to see the team's current Mercedes V8 engine that weighs under 100 kgs and the company uses a Mclaren gearbox. Force India is the only Indian Formula 1 team. But we got the permission to only shoot this image, and boy o boy we were happy to get that clicked also.
