The stage has been set for a special icy pedal to the metal drive experience on custom designed tracks at an exotic Colorado resort. Aston Martin brings its selection of British luxury sports cars to the western town of Crested Buttle somewhere in the middle of the Colorado Rocky mountain range early next year. This second season of the drive experience will pit drivers in powerful road cars driven on not so grip friendly surface, on a 10 acre area painstakingly designed in over 250 man hours. These tracks have been meticulously tailored to Aston Martin’s precise requirements and are maintained by the company’s team of experts throughout the ice-drive activity. The event is spread over two three-day sessions in February next year.
The technicalities of the drive event comprises a braking and cornering exercise loop, a slalom, skid pad and a full circuit, work on the bespoke Aston Martin track has already been under way for some weeks. Under the hand of expert guidance, participants will test and improve their car driving control in a series of braking, cornering and handling exercises before further putting their skills to the test on a 1.6km long frozen course.
Julian Jenkins, President, Aston Martin The Americas says, “After a hugely successful first year we are returning with an On Ice program that will once again deliver a genuinely thrilling experience in Colorado’s breath-taking high country. Combining extreme driving, in an extreme environment, with typically sumptuous Aston Martin luxury living, the 2015 On Ice activity is sure to be amongst the highlights of our year.” The Aston Martin ice driving event is one of several Aston Martin bespoke driving experiences that take place across the country every year.
