Datsun is geared up to launch its third new model tomorrow, the redi-GO. After the Japanese automaker’s average performance in the Indian market with the GO hatch and the GO+ MPV, a lot is riding on the redi-GO. Slated to be priced between Rs 2.40 lakh and Rs 3.50 lakh, the Datsun small car is expected to create a stir in the entry level segment. The redi-GO’s bookings are already underway and it has reached showrooms across the country.
Smart styling and space are where the redi-GO scores thanks to its tall boy design. With compact dimensions, the small car is just perfect for maneuvering in the city and parking in tight spots. The car has a lot of cuts and creases all around the body, which is sure to turn heads on the road. One important thing to note here is that despite the raised cabin height, the redi-GO still looks like a hatch and not a mini SUV like the Kwid.
Sharing the same CMF-A (Common Module Family) platform of the Kwid, the Datsun redi-GO is powered by the same 800cc engine which also does duties under the Renault hatch. The engine produces 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque. Its mileage is expected to be around 25.17kmpl, identical to the Kwid's.

Even if Datsun is able to price it aggressively, the company still has to prove the reliability factor. With established players like the Alto, the Eon and the Kwid, the new Datsun hatch may find the going tough. Stay tuned to CarDekho to know the redi-GO prices and the other details tomorrow.
