Climate control has been missing in the Amaze ever since
Honda Amaze facelift, which will be launched on 3rd March 2016, is coming with a brand new dashboard with added goodies. We spied on the interiors of the base model of the updated Amaze. One feature which was sorely missing in the Amaze since its inception appears to be standard now- automatic climate control AC!
Climate Control Unit
It is similar to the one Honda introduced with the BR-V. It is not a touch unit which Honda offers with the City and Jazz. However, unlike City/Jazz this unit gets a ‘Max Cool’ button, which automatically adjusts the unit to the lowest settings. As this is a base model, it doesn’t get the rear defogger button beside the front demister, though, the higher variants will.
New Dashboard
The dashboard resembles the one in the City and Jazz, but has subtle differences. The base trim comes with no highlights, except elusive black palettes while higher variants will come with silver and chrome highlights. There's this new audio unit which now supports Bluetooth phone telephony. The instrument cluster is similar to that of the City, but it doesn't come with the huge circular LCD display. Higher variants come with chrome rings inserted in the instrument cluster (see the pic below). The steering wheel is carried forward from the previous version. Moreover, there are no changes to the door panels and central tunnel.

Safety and Mechanicals
In terms of safety, it does not come with standard dual-front airbags like the Ford Figo Aspire or the upcoming VW Ameo. It is expected that like the outgoing one, dual front airbags along with ABS and EBD will start from mid trims, while ABS with EBD will be standard in the diesel variants. Mechanically, it will remain unaltered. The diesel trims will be powered by the 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission. While the petrol will be powered by the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine, also mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission along with a 5-Speed automatic. It is expected the diesel versions will come with improved NVH levels.
