Fiesta, Ford’s C-segment sedan is expected to revive its presence with the 6-speed powershift transmission mated to 1.5 Ti-VCT 112PS petrol. The same would be a Dual Clutch Transmission, so it will be super sleek while you shift. Notably, Fiesta’s petrol and DCT versions were discontinued back in June 2014 following the facelift version.

The newly launched engine facility at Sanand will make it more convenient for Ford to bring in a variety of options.

Speaking of the car, earlier when it was up for sale the 6-Speed DCT gearbox came with the super robust technology of dry sump lubrication that offered maintenance free operation for atleast 10 years. In case of regular transmission, the lube has to be changed after every 30,000 km and on an average in 10 years cars drive close to 1,00,000 km. So this gearbox definitely deserves some appreciation and the way a DCT shifts can put any transmission to shame.

Fiesta with its DCT will be competing against two cars with basic 4-speed ATs, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, one CVT from Honda City and the advanced 7-speed DCT variant of VW Vento & Skoda Rapid.

Other than the Fiesta, Ford will be soon launching the Figo Aspire and that too is speculated to offer the same 6-speed DCT. Other than this Aspire will feature class leading safety features alongwith an option to choose from petrol and diesel engines.
