This 10th generation Civic will be launching in U.S. by this fall and will be debuting the Honda’s VTEC Turbo engines in the States!

Pleasant surprise! Honda has revealed the 10th generation Civic at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Honda adds that the new Civic is ‘completely reimagined’, will be available in sedan, coupe and 5-door Hatchback body types, as well as Si and Type-R versions and sales in US will start this fall.

"In every way, this will be an epic Civic"

"The new Civic will be, flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we've ever made," said John Mendel, Executive Vice President, Automobile Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.  "In every way, this will be an epic Civic."

The concept’s design reminds us of the current ninth-gen, but at the same time this 10th-gen model looks radically evolved. It is still an aggressive looking Civic like the current one but sports a longer wheelbase and is wider. Boasting a longer hood, a shorter front overhang, a more set-back greenhouse and a shorter rear deck, flaunting an "in-motion" appearance. Moreover, it is based on a new efficiency oriented compact platform.

"Charismatic, connected and athletic, our goal was to create a design that is emotional and sporty yet with a sense of timelessness and simplicity," said Guy Melville-Brown, Exterior Design Leader of the Civic concept, Honda R&D Americas, Inc.

The 10th gen Civic will draw its power from a new 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine with direct injection along with Honda’s other powertrains from Earth Dreams Technology! Transmissions will be a short-shifting 6-speed manual transmission, and a new, more sporty and efficient Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
