The coming-soon-to India Jaguar XE has received an extensive update of features for the 2017 model year. Leading the feature list is the XE’s new torque on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which will be made available exclusively with the 180 PS Ingenium diesel and the 340 PS supercharged V6 petrol engines fitted with eight-speed automatic transmissions. To maintain the XE’s driver’s car status, the AWD transfers the torque to the front wheels only when needed, keeping up the rear wheel drive character.

The AWD system makes use of Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR) to map the powertrain and Dynamic Stability Control system according to the road conditions. The XE also gets Configurable Dynamics first developed for the F-TYPE, which helps you to choose individual settings for the throttle response, transmission shifts and the Adaptive Dynamics continuously-variable damping system.
