The India-made Suzuki Baleno is all set to make its way to the UK. As reported by us earlier, it is slated to be launched on 01 June 2016 and will be priced between GBP 12,999-15,349 (Rs 12.8 to 15.11 lakhs). The car gets more features when compared to Indian-spec variants and also utilises SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology.
Some of the notable upgrades are incorporation of the 1.0-litre turbocharged booster jet engine and the 1.2-liter DualJet engine with the SHVS, a six-speed automatic gearbox, inclusion of the cruise control with speed limiter, HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights, six-airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels from the base variant and radar brake support. Important features such as navigation and power windows are being carry forwarded to the European variant.
The Baleno has been one of the most successful products from Maruti’s line-up in recent times. It is the most exported car of Maruti and reports of it being taken to European nations were already rife.
More From This Section
The Indian version of the Baleno comes with two engine options viz. 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel mill. The 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine is not yet launched in India, though, it is likely to happen soon. Seeing the euro-spec version of the car with plush features leaves us desiring for more. We hope the carmaker will understand the love of the Indian automobile enthusiasts for their cars and will soon introduce a more tech savvy variant of the Baleno.
