When government promised to bring “Ache Din” to the common men, each and every one of us has started looking around to find those good days. After a long strolling, we found a sector where good days have actually knocked. Auto industry, an industry which is burgeoning at a very rapid pace in India, has already started enjoying the good rhythm; at least the stats of June say this! Most of the giants of the industry have experienced great boom in their sales as compared to the last month. This growth is even more important keeping the fact in mind the auto industry in India has been declining in last 15 months or so.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

One of the core reasons behind this growth is the news - 'reduced excise duty on vehicles will last till 30 June only'. This news has pushed the auto buyers to make their decision soon. The vehicles would get expensive once the reduced excise duty is terminated, and saving some bucks pushed the buyers to buy before 30th June, and this helped the manufacturers to rocket-boom their sales. Shockingly, the reduced excise duty will remain effect till end of this year, relief! This news may reduce the cars sales in July, as compared to June. But before that, here is a list of top-five gainers of the last month:

Honda Cars India – 75 percent growth

Thanks to Honda City and Honda Amaze, Honda Cars India tops our list with more than 75% growth in the month of June, 2014. The Japanese manufacture was able to sell 16,316 units in June. In the same month of the last year, the company sold only 9,297 units. The largest share was of Honda’s latest Entrant City with 7,723 units. Amaze is not too far behind with 7,075 units sold. Other than these two cars, 1,438 units of Brio and 80 units of Premium SUV CR-V were also sold during this period.

Honda City

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd – 48 percent growth

Second in our list, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. with 48% growth as compared to last year. This June, the company sold 4,362 units which are around two times of its last year’s sales, 2,949 units. The retailing rate is even higher for this manufacturer as they retailed 14,684 units in the first half of 2014, almost 134% more than its last year’s figure 6,268. The biggest credit goes to Nissan Terrano which has appeared as the most sold vehicle for them.

Ford India Private Limited – 36 percent growth

The third spot in our list is conquered by Ford India Pvt. Ltd, as the company has succeeded in selling 11,935 units in June 2014, about 36% more than its last year’s figure 8,771 units. The largest contributor in Ford’s growth is Ford EcoSport. The car has become the first choice for everyone due to its elegant looks and affordability. Also, the all new 2014 Ford Fiesta was also launched during this period and contributed a lot in the success of its manufacturer.

Maruti Suzuki – 33 percent growth

The largest auto manufacturer in India has yet again made its place in our list just like every year. Maruti Suzuki sold 100,964 units in June 2014, which is 33 percent more than its June 2013 figure 77,002. The largest share holder was Swift siblings who have already become the most sought after car for the Indian families.
