Maruti Suzuki India, today, unveiled the much-anticipated Ciaz sedan and SX-4 Cross Concept at the ongoing 2014 Indian Auto Expo. However, everyone was expecting the launch of Celerio hatchback which has already created lots of buzz in the Indian market. Now, the company is all set to introduce the vehicle on tomorrow at the pan-India auto show.
The new Maruti Celerio will replace the A-star and Estilo hatchbacks in India. It will be introduced in three trim levels- LXi, VXi, ZXi. Moreover, it will feature the automated manual transmission. This EZ Drive technology will be made available in all three variants of the hatchback. The bookings for the Celerio have already been started, while the sales are expected to begin by March 2014.
Under the hood, the new Suzuki Celerio will get the current 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 67bhp and 90Nm of top torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a new Automatic manual transmission gearbox. It will also come in manual transmission (five speed).
