Car safety nowadays is a hot topic. With organizations like the NCAP urging the Indian automakers to adopt higher safety standards, car manufacturers are compelled to provide better safety features in their offerings. With this in mind, Maruti, one of India's biggest automaker has launched two new variants of its Ciaz sedan with extra safety features than the ongoing models. The Vxi (O) and Vdi (O) variants are priced at Rs 7.48 lac and Rs 8.37 lac respectively are upgraded to feature safety gizmos like dual airbags and ABS. Currently, the Vxi and Vdi variants are priced at Rs 7.31 lac and Rs 8.23 lac respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
Maruti Suzuki India, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, R S Kalsi, in a statement said, "By offering the option of more safety equipment on our base variants, we want to encourage customers to buy cars that enhance their safety," he added “Besides, all the features and attributes of Ciaz Vxi and Vdi, the "O" variants will be equipped with dual airbags, ABS and other safety features. “
The Vxi (O) and Vdi (O) variants will feature seat belt technologies like seat belt pretensioner and force limiters and also a seat belt reminder with buzzer for driver side. The variants will also have Anti-lock braking system (ABS). Both of these variants will have dual airbags for the driver and front passenger.
