With the festive season upon us, there is no wonder that we will be subjected to a hoard of new launches and special editions. Maruti has finally joined the club with the launch of limited Glory Edition Swift. Mechanically, the car remains identical to your run-of-the-mill Swift and features racing stripes that run across the length of the car. The car will be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. The power-plants come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

When it was launched, Swift was compared to Mini Cooper and now with the addition of flamboyant racing stripes and contrasting red and white color scheme, it is now reminicent to latter. The special edition also includes addition of a rear spoiler. The C-Pillars have been painted black to enhance the flowing design. Other additions include a contrast red roof, red decals, side skirts and wing mirrors. The car also features a tagline that states it is “ For The Player”, “for those who keep the ball rolling”.

The interiors of the car also features a music system with Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking assist along with a rear-view camera, dual-tone red & black seat upholstery, steering wheel & gear cover and new floor mats. The Glory Edition is exclusively available for the VDi and VXi trims. The VDi Glory edition will also feature brake assist and ABS with EBD. It has also been confirmed that Swift Glory edition will not flaunt alloy wheel or feature airbags.
