New Generation BMW X5 unveiled

German auto major BMW has finally revealed/launched the 3rd generation X5 at the ongoing 2014 Indian Motor Show. First unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the vehicle has already made its way to various international markets. The new X5 has received changes to both inside and out. 

The vehicle now gets the tall upright stance and aggressive looks. The vehicle now features broader kidney grilles with chrome surrounds, LED integrated headlamps, two piece tailights and the light rings are flattened along the bottom edge and overlapped at their top edge, which make it into an even more adorable product.  

 

The new BMW measures 1938mm width, 4886mm length and 1762mm height, which make it 5mm wider, 32mm longer and 14mm taller than the existing model. However, the wheelbase has remained the same 2933mm. Inside the cabin, the new X5 offers a 650-litres of boot. Additionally, it now get four round gauges on the instrument panel and freestanding 10.2-inch control display monitor. The displays for the climate control and ventilation systems sports black panel technology. 

The new generation BMW X5 comes equipped with features such as lane departure warning and road sign information, head up display, 360 degree surround view parking assistant, night vision with human and animal detection and collision warning, etc. 

Mechanically, the new BMW remains unchanged and is continue to be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol version get the 4.4-litre mill that churns out a maximum power output of 407bhp and 600Nm of top torque, the diesel trim is powered by the same 3.0-litre powertrain that produces 245bhp and 540Nm of top power and torque. (An another 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine is also added to the lineup which develops 375bhp of top power).
