Amidst all the speculations about Honda's plans of unveiling the next generation Honda City, Honda Jazz and a new compact and a brio based MPV 'Mobilio' at the Indian auto expo, a new media report has now claimed the unveiling of the all new Honda city as early as next month. As we already know, this time Honda City will have a diesel powertrain as well. However, we still believe that the unveiling will be done at the expo only and the launch will take place in mid 2014.
The report further claims that the all new Honda City will be made available in six to eight variants with both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine powered variants are expected to carry the existing 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill, while the diesel version might be the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC, powering Honda Amaze. However, the diesel engine could be tuned a little so to bring down the NVH level of the car.
The next generation City has been developed on the new generation Jazz platform, on which several others cars will be developed. Other than the change in platform, new Honda City is expected to receive an entirely new look. The next-generation Honda City will have bigger wrap around clear lens headlamps with projector lights, redesigned integrated LED tail lamps on the rear, more prominent character lines on both sides and several other changes, which will help the car look sportier than ever.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
