Proving our claims right, Mercedes-Benz has today officially confirmed the launch of E63 AMG in India on July 25th at the famous Buddh International Circuit, Noida. On June 25th, the company had launched the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the country at Rs. 41.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), now the AMG will join the line-up. Since the vehicle will come via CBU route, so expect a huge price tag with this.
Powering the 5.5-litre V8 engine, the E63 AMG is capable of churning out 550bhp and 700Nm of top torque, and the engine is mated to a 4matic setup that transmits powers to all-four wheels. The transmission for the E63 AMG will be a 7-speed speedshift automatic gearbox. The earlier generation E63 AMG was powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2 litre engine, which produces 30bhp lesser power output than the new one.
The E63 AMG will feature a special AMG "A-wing" making the lower intakes and the twin-blade grille positioned right above it. Also on offer are a black finished rear diffuser and an AMG exclusive dual exhaust setup at the rear. Inside the cabin, it now gets the AMG touches like silver seatbelts and Alcantara inserts to the Nappa leather steering wheel and others. The prices will be unveiled at the event only, so stay tuned to CarDekho for the same. Cheers!
