BMW that unveiled the X4 Crossover Concept at the 2013 Shanghai motor Show, will reveal the production version at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January. With early next year's unveiling, it is also speculated that the vehicle will be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2014.
The X4 crossover will not get the boxy shape of the X3, but a sportier stance. The lines and contours on the car are directly sourced from the concept revealed in Shanghai in April 2013. The production version of the vehicle also gets the familiar kidney grille with connecting headlight cluster. The rear end of the X4 crossover resembles the X6, and the vehicle will also be available with M Sport package, offering a more aggressive front and rear bumper design and larger alloy wheels.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but it is speculated that the vehicle engine line-up will be shared with the X3. The entry level model will be powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 181bhp and the other model gets the 3.0-litre straight-six engine that churns out maximum power output of 254bhp. The new X4 crossover will be available with both rear wheel-drive and xDrive variants.
