With the introduction of Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano, the competition level in the compact SUV segment gets tougher. Duster has been the Renault's top selling model in India, however the vehicle has seen slight dip in its sales in the recent times. The compact SUV segment is now populous and to remain stable in the market, the French automaker needs to bring some interesting model range. Renault is planning to launch some new variants of the Urban SUV to keep buyers interested.

We expect that the company will launch an automatic and 4x4 versions of the Duster in India by next year. Possibilities are there that Renault could present these models at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo. Recently, Duster facelift was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and it is also speculated that it will also come to India. However, nothing has been confirmed on the same yet.

According to some media reports, Renault is planning to enter the compact MPV and compact hatchback segments, where they don't have any product yet. The company is planning to launch a compact MPV and a sub-4 lakh car. We reported earlier that Renault could launch a compact MPV, and Lodgy could be the right product to enter into a new segment.
