Renault India Starts Promotional Campaign for the World Premier of XBA [Video]

Renault has started the promotional campaign for the world premier of its new entry-level XBA (codenamed) on May 20, 2015! It will be the third mass market product of the French Automaker in the country and its arch rivals will be the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800/K10, Hyundai Eon and even the Datsun GO. Speaking of the prices, expect the prices of Renault XBA in the vicinity of Rs. 3-4 lacs. Moreover, according to few reports, XBA will be christened as  Renault Kayou!

Talking about the teaser image which Renault just revealed, the vehicle looks like a crossover with prominent wheel arches and a tall appearance. It is also in-line with Renault’s current global design theme. At the outset, you’ll get swept back headlamps flanked around the honeycombed grille with a large Renault logo. Moreover, the window line narrows towards the C-pillar and the roofline is slightly sloping along with a chubby rear-fender just like Renault Captur.

 

The XBA is based on company’s all-new CMF platform developed by the Renault-Nissan alliance. The Common Modular Family (CMF) was unveiled in 2013 and XBA will be the first product to be launched with this platform in India. Speaking of the mechanicals, reportedly it's getting an all new 0.8-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Moreover,  AMT - automated manual transmission is also on cards, as a recent report suggest the same - Renault and Hyundai to offer AMT Soon in India.
