After unveiling the new Maruti YRA/Baleno at the recent Frankfurt motor show, the carmaker's latest offering was spied testing on the streets of Gurgaon. A video of the car being road tested out on streets disguised in heavy camouflage has surfaced online. The car is seen supporting a black wrap and one can see the minimalistically revealed taillamp clusters. According to recent reports, there is anticipation surrounding an October launch for the Maruti YRA/ Baleno in India. The video was uploaded online by a Youtube user named Autospeed.

The car will be Maruti’s offering to rival the premium hatchback segment leader, Hyundai i20 Active, which is why it will be positioned above Swift and sold out of Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships. Baleno or Maruti YRA is based on a completely new platform, which is designed to deliver enhanced efficiency and handling. Dimensionally, the car will stand at 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,470 mm in height, which will be reduced to 1,460 mm for the variants with SHVS. The car will also offer 355 liters of boot space.

For the interiors, Maruti will give YRA/Baleno it’s SmartPlay infotainment system, which will come with Bluetooth connectivity and will feature a navigation function. To provide ease of access, the car will also feature multi-function steering wheel, which will come with audio and telephony controls. Other comfort features will include, an automatic climate control system. The Indian variants of the car will be powered by a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol and the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine-coupled to the SHVS mild hybrid technology.
