"There are particular moments in all of our professional lives where you need the courage to take difficult and very painful decisions," said Domenicali.
He further added, "It's time to make an important change. As boss, I take the responsibility - as I always have - for the situation we are going through. "This decision has been taken with the aim of doing something to shake things up."

Domenicali, who first joined Ferrari in 1991, has seen a lot of ups and down but since after Kimi Raikkonen's success in 2007, no Ferrari driver has won the world title, made him to take this harsh decision.  Team Ferrari's current drivers Fernando Alonso finished two fourth places and a ninth while his team-mate Raikkonen was able to finish the chequered flag at seventh, 12th and 10th positions.

Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo said,"I thank Stefano Domenicali, not only for his constant dedication and effort, but also for the great sense of responsibility he has shown, even today, in always putting the interests of Ferrari above all else".

Mattiacci, will now be the Team Principal of Ferrari Formula One Team from the next F1 race, which is the Chinese Grand Prix scheduled from 18th to 20th  April.
