Tata has made public debut of its brand new entry level hatchback Zica at the on-going 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The hatchback has been launched at Rs ‘xxx’/ Bookings for the new Tata Zica are open/ The hatchback will be launched in a few weeks from now. It is a brand new product from the ground up and offers two new engines from Tata Motor. Moreover, it also debuts Tata's new Impact design philosophy. Tata Zica competes with rivals like Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
In terms of features, Zica comes with Tata’s ConnectNext Infotainment System. The system features Bluetooth connectivity, tuner, USB, Aux-in and a large screen display. Tata’s ConnectNext system also offers smartphone integration with two apps presently - Navigation app and Juke app. The vehicle gets segment first - 8 speaker system - 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. Speaking of the safety, Zica offers dual front airbags along with ABS, EBD and CSC (Corner Stability Control).
Zica is powered by two brand new petrol and diesel engines from Tata Motors. The Zica debuts Tata’s new Revotorq family of diesel engines, while it adds new 1.2-liter naturally aspirated motor in the Revotron petrol series. The new 1.05-liter Revotorq, 3-cylinder diesel generates 70 PS at 4000 rpm and max torque of 140 Nm in between 1800-3000 rpm. The new 1.2-liter Revotron 3-cylinder puts out 85 PS @ 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm @ 3500 rpm. Both the engines are mated to a standard 5-Speed manual transmission.
