Tata Motors has beefed up the Zest line-up by introducing the top end diesel automatic variant. The Zest XTA has been launched at the price tag of Rs. 8.07 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). Though diesel automatic was already available in the mid-level trim but with the launch of this range topping variant, the compact sedan now comes equipped with all the goodies that were missing in the XMA variant.

The top of the line variant features LED daytime running lights and guide lights on the headlamps, Harmon touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking sensors, automatic climate control and height adjustable driver’s seat. While in the safety department, alarm system, rear defogger and dual airbags have been added.

The new variant affixed with the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) aka F-tronic system, draws power from the same Fiat sourced 1.3 liter 4-cylinder diesel motor that pumps out 90PS and 200Nm of max torque. The automatic variant is a bit economical in terms of fuel consumption as well delivering 21.58kmpl as compared to diesel manual transmission variant that returns 20.65kmpl.

A number of dealerships have already started taking the bookings for the new variant. Zest was launched last year and became the first sedan to come with AMT gearbox and also the most affordable diesel automatic in India.
