Tata will rebadge its Sumo Grande as the Movus and will be launching it soon this month. The Movus will get a major exterior and interior upgrade. Firstly, it will have the new 2.2-litre VariCOR engine, which powers the new Safari Storme. The DiCOR engine will be discontinued, and even the power ratings on the Movus will remain the same at 120bhp.
The Movus will get new revised interiors and it will also get several new features like music system with Bluetooth, USB and aux-input. The Movus will have a redone suspension set-up for better driving dynamics too. Tata had improved the final drive ratios and had fine-tuned the suspension. Tata Motors wants to separate the Movus from the Sumo brand and retain the Sumo Gold as the only Sumo product. The Movus will target SUV buyers between the Safari and the Sumo. This will have contemporary interiors with several features and this will compete with the Mahindra Scorpio.
The Movus will be launched in the second half of this month, along with facelift Tata Aria. This Aria will also have an automatic transmission and refreshed interiors. It will retain features like satellite navigation, Bluetooth, multiple airbags etc in the refresh and expect more features to be added as well.
