Images of Toyota’s next crossover have been leaked online, ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The pictures revealed are of the production version of C-HR Concept, which was first showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The recently leaked images first appeared on an American website, not long ago.
Going by the images, the vehicle has incorporated plenty of creases across the body. The new crossover has been built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA), which also underpins the new Prius. The exterior design of the car does show impressions of its sibling RAV4, especially with angular headlamps and sleek grille at the front. The sloping coupe-like roofline, raised stance and boomerang shaped LED taillights provides one with a impression that it’s a crossover of the future.
The car is meant for the European market, where it will compete against Fiat 500X, Nissan Juke, Jeep Renegade, Mazda CX-3 and similar cars in the segment. Talking about the specs, the vehicle will run on gasoline-hybrid powertrain, though there are possibilities that the car might be offered with other conventional engine options as well. Transmission duties shall be handled by a CVT gearbox.
When launched, Toyota CH-R will be placed below RAV4 in the market. We will see more details emerge once it gets officially uncovered at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.
