This engine will be paired to either six-speed manual or/and the DSG automatic transmission, which transmits power to front wheels of the SUV. The diesel model gets the 1.2-litre engine that churns out a maximum power output of 74bhp.

The Taigun SUV will be assembled at Volkswagen's manufacturing facility in Pune, India. It share most of its styling cues with its SUV siblings, the Tiguan and Touareg. The mini SUV sports  rugged side panels, underbody protection and practical roof rails with LED spotlights

This small SUV will directly target the urban buyers. Its high driving position provides a good view of traffic to the driver. The interior of the SUV is simple and spacious, with controls pared back to a minimum. The Taigun SUV is expected to hit the Indian shores by 2015.
