Volkswagen has revealed the images of the facelift version of the Polo and this will make its way into India as well by September. The Polo model year 2014 has a upgrade with a redesigned bumper and headlamps with LED running lamps. The new Polo for India will also get a new engine too. This will be the 1.5-litre diesel engine and it will replace the current GT TDI with the 1.6-litre diesel engine.
The new 1.5-litre engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission and also an option of self-shifting dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. This engine will produce 89bhp of power and this downsize will help Volkswagen to reduce the duty on the engines. The Volkswagen Polo 1.2-litre diesel is likely to be discontinued as well. This will help them gain a larger market share if they manage to reduce the prices.
The interiors of the Polo will also receive a major upgrade, with a new music system in place. The Polo has been a great handler with a well-built body and now it will boast a powerful engine too. The Volkswagen Polo and even the Vento will be seen very soon. The Vento will retain the same power with the 1.5-litre diesel engine, also expect the Vento to come with a seven-speed DSG box too.
