Record Import of Vegetable Oil
The Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India has compiled the import data of Vegetable oils (edible & non-edible) for the month of August 2014. Import of vegetable oils during August 2014 is up by 76% and reported at 1,333,480 tons compared to 757,830 tons in August, 2013, consisting of 1,321,345 tons of edible oils and 12,135 tons on non-edible oils. The overall import of vegetable oils during Nov. '13 to August '14 is reported at 9,525,374 tons compared to 8,792,383 tons i.e. up by 8%. Import of Soybean Oil jumped to record level of 350,373 tons in August 2014, highest in any single month since import opened up in OGL in 1994.Powered by Capital Market - Live News
