Essar Oil, Reliance Infrastructure, Bharat Electronics and Wockhardt are among the other gainers
Adani Enterprises spurted 23.15% to Rs 470.25 after scaling a 52-week high of Rs 478.20 in intraday trade. It topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Shares of the Adani group firm gained on renewed buying. The Adani group is known for its proximity to Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Investors are betting that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will be able to form the next government at the centre with support from some regional parties after Lok Sabha elections which conclude in mid-May this year.
Essar Oil gained 9.79% to Rs 63.90. It was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Reliance Infrastructure jumped 8.76% to Rs 502.90 after hitting a 52-week high of Rs 518 in intraday trade. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Bharat Electronics surged 8.23% to Rs 1226.25 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Wockhardt rose 6.96% to Rs 643.65 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
