Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail announces shut-down due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In order to ensure safety of its employees and customers, the company will extend the shut-down of all retail stores of the company and its subsidiaries, until 14 April 2020.

In an exchange filing made after market hours on Friday, 27 March 2020, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) announced shut-down due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The company said that considering the gravity of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and subsequent lockdown of 21 days starting 24 March 2020, as advised by State and Central Governments and in order to ensure safety of its employees and customers, it has been decided to extend the shut-down of all retail stores of the Company and its subsidiaries, until 14 April 2020.

 

The company said it will extend the shut-down period, if required, in accordance with the directives of State and Central Governments from time to time.

The stock closed 1.59% lower at Rs 166.65 yesterday, 27 March 2020.

ABFRL is a part of Aditya Birla Group. It is India's first billion-dollar pure-play fashion powerhouse with an elegant bouquet of leading fashion brands and retail formats.

ABFRL emerged after the consolidation of the branded apparel businesses of Aditya Birla Group comprising Aditya Birla Nuvo's Madura Fashion division and Aditya Birla Nuvo's subsidiaries - Pantaloons Fashion and Retail (PFRL) and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MFL) in May 2015. Post the consolidation, PFRL was renamed Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail.
