Advanta gains after strong Q1 earnings

Advanta rose 2.08% to Rs 189.10 at 11:54 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit galloped 329.46% to Rs 24.05 crore on 35.83% growth in total income from operations to Rs 308.34 crore in Q1 March 2014 over Q1 March 2013.

The Q1 result was announced before market hours today, 30 April 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 188.49 points or 0.84% at 22,654.68.

On BSE, so far 3.55 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 58,275 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 205 and a low of Rs 188.75 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 207.75 on Tuesday, 29 April 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 79.50 on 6 August 2013.

 

The stock outperformed the market over the past one month till 29 April 2014, advancing 34.97% compared with the Sensex's 0.56% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 79.07% as against Sensex's 8.81% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 16.87 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Advanta is primarily engaged in the business of hybrid seeds.
