"With inflation rearing its head again especially when the country is set to receive less of monsoon rains, all-out efforts must be made to jack up supply of essential items like cereals, fruits, vegetables and milk," apex industry body ASSOCHAM said while expressing serious concern about rise in WPI in May 2014.
"Different government agencies must join hands and work in a well-coordinated manner to ensure adequate supply without allowing unscrupulous elements to take advantage," said Mr D.S. Rawat, secretary general of ASSOCHAM.
"The role of the state governments is crucial while the PMO itself should monitor the situation since inflation is the biggest roadblock for the economic growth," said Mr Rawat.
