Ambuja Cements on Friday (17 April) said it is seeking necessary approvals for resumption of operations at various locations from 20 April 2020 in a phased manner.
The operations at various locations will be resumed in full compliance of the directives as may be mentioned in the approval by the relevant government authorities. The company said it is taking all necessary steps to adhere to the social distancing norms and continues to work to safeguard the interests of its employees, workers and other stakeholders in its plant locations and offices.On 23 March 2020, Ambuja Cements had temporarily suspended its operations at various locations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambuja Cements' consolidated net profit tanked 45.16% to Rs 591.54 crore on a 5.91% rise in net sales to Rs 7,126.44 crore in Q3 December 2019 over Q3 December 2018.
Ambuja Cements, a part of the global conglomerate LafargeHolcim, is among the leading cement companies in India. The firm operates through cement and cement related products segment.
Shares of Ambuja Cement declined 1.09% to Rs 172.70 on BSE. The scrip hovered in the range of Rs 170.85 to Rs 176.80 so far.
