Andhra Bank rose 1.25% to Rs 32.45 at 9:43 IST on BSE after the bank said that it received capital infusion of Rs 2019 crore from the central government.
The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 24 July 2018.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 56.89 points, or 0.15% to 36,881.99.
On the BSE, 1.21 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 4.41 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 32.75 and a low of Rs 32.25 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 73.45 on 26 October 2017. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 29.30 on 17 July 2018.
Andhra Bank said it has received Rs 2019 crore towards contribution of the central government in the preferential allotment of equity shares of the bank.
Andhra Bank reported net loss of Rs 2535.82 crore in Q4 March 2018 as against net profit of Rs 35.12 crore in Q4 March 2017. Total income declined 6.12% to Rs 5092.62 crore in Q4 March 2018 over Q4 March 2017.
The Government of India (GoI) holds 77.991% stake in Andhra Bank (as per the shareholding pattern as on 30 June 2018).
