Revenue earning freight traffic of Indian Railways for the month of August 2014 stood at 88.15 million tonnes, translating into a growth of 6%yoy (or 5.01 million tonnes). The freight traffic for the period April-August 2014 was up by 4.6%yoy to 445.73 million tones. IR's originating freight earnings for the month of Aug 2014 stood at Rs 7997.23 crore and for first months period ended Aug 2014 was Rs 40879 crore.
