Australian share market finished session lower on Friday, 19 January 2018, with shares of material and resources and energy issues being notable losers hit by weakness in commodity prices, though gains in consumer staples and healthcare stocks helped stem some of the decline. The S&P/ASX 200 index fell 0.2%, or 8.8 points to 6,005.8 at the close of trade. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index fell 1.1% over the week.
