All sectors traded in the red with energy, materials, and financials leading declines. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index ended 86.10 points, or 1.63%, down at 514.40 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 83.60 points, or 1.57%, to 5239.20 points. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, rose 7.6% at 18.94, suggesting 5.4% swing in the equity benchmark index in the next 30 days.
