Shares of three aviation firms rose 1.16% to 3.23% at 9:59 IST on BSE as global crude oil prices tumbled yesterday, 2 December 2015.
Jet Airways (India) (up 3.23%), SpiceJet (up 2.15%) and Interglobe Aviation (up 1.16%), edged higher.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 95.37 points or 0.37% at 26,022.48.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel typically constitutes about 50% of airlines' operating costs. Jet fuel prices are directly linked to international crude oil prices.
In the global commodities markets, Brent crude oil futures edged higher. Brent for January settlement was up 24 cents at $42.73 a barrel. The contract had falen $1.95 a barrel or 4.39% to settle at $42.49 a barrel during the previous trading session.
