Bajaj Auto fell 1.61% to Rs 2,560.90 at 09:49 IST on BSE after the company reported 1% rise in total sales to 3.47 lakh units in May 2016 over May 2015.
The company announced the monthly sales volume data before market hours today, 2 June 2016.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 54.21 points or 0.2% at 26,659.72
On BSE, so far 3,261 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 20,997 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit high of Rs 2,602 and low of Rs 2,558 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,655 on 23 July 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 2,133.15 on 26 August 2015.
The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 289.37 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Bajaj Auto's motorcycles sales rose 2% to 3.07 lakh units in May 2016 over May 2015. Sales of commercial vehicles declined 7% to 40,311 units in May 2016 over May 2015. Exports fell 10% to 1.43 lakh units in May 2016 over May 2015.
Bajaj Auto's net profit rose 29.2% to Rs 803.06 crore on 13.1% rise in total income to Rs 5535.56 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q4 March 2015.
