Bayer CropScience jumped 13% to Rs 2038.25 at 11:49 IST on BSE after net profit rose 23.6% to Rs 108.50 crore on 21.3% increase in net sales to Rs 1172.40 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013.
The company announced the result after market hours on Thursday, 24 July 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 133.62 points, or 0.51%, to 26,138.23.
On BSE, so far 22,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 17,417 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 2,060 so far during the day, which is also a record high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 1,880 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,378 on 21 March 2014.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 24 July 2014, falling 1.60% compared with 3.56% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 21.40% as against Sensex's 14.84% rise.
The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 36.62 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
