Bayer CropScience jumped 10.97% to Rs 2,655 at 10:00 IST on BSE after the company said its net profit rose 51.15% to Rs 176.10 crore on 17.65% rise in total income to Rs 1268.70 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
The Q2 result was announced after market hours on Tuesday, 11 November 2014.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 145.05 points or 0.57% at 28,055.11.
On BSE, so far 13,203 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 4,953 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 2,688.15 and a low of Rs 2,585 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 2,710 on 19 September 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,378 on 21 March 2014.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 11 November 2014, rising 0.53% compared with the Sensex's 6.13% rise. The scrip had, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 15.65% as against Sensex's 9.37% rise.
