Bayer CropScience slips after weak Q3 results

Bayer CropScience fell 4.13% to Rs 1624 at 10:33 IST on BSE after net profit fell 95.68% to Rs 39 crore on 12.07% rise in net sales to Rs 626.60 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.

The company announced the result after market hours on Thursday, 30 January 2014.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 40.01 points, or 0.20%, to 20,538.26.

On BSE, so far 1,588 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 2,831 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 1,685 and a low of Rs 1,600 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 1,829.20 on 1 November 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,065.05 on 10 April 2013.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 30 January 2014, falling 2.22% compared with the Sensex's 3.05% fall. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 2.63% as against Sensex's 2.55% fall.

The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 36.62 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Bayer CropScience announced after market hours on Thursday, 30 January 2014, that Mr. Stephan Gerlich ceased to be the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the company and also as a member of the board of directors with effect from closing hours of 30 January 2014. Mr. Richard van der Merwe was appointed as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the company with effect from 1 February 2014.
